16-Camera Double-Expander HD OB Vehicle
Category:

This 16 camera OB vehicle is a double-expander HD truck built by C2S for Video Europe in the UK. It combines a Sony MVS-7000X vision mixer, Sony HDC-2500 camera channels and EVS XT3 replay servers in a coach-built Mercedes Axor 2529 body designed for scalable events coverage.

16-Camera Double-Expander HD OB Vehicle  – Video Europe, UK

THE CONCEPT

Video Europe asked C2S to handle the full project: supply, design, coach-building and integration of a 16-camera HD outside broadcast truck. The goal was a modern, adaptable OB able to scale from small events to major productions, delivered together with a support vehicle equipped with an on-board edit suite.

Inside, an open-plan layout gives both compact and large crews a comfortable working space. Engineers reach the racks easily, so the truck can be reconfigured for each job. When a venue is tight, the vehicle still works with just one side expanded.

Inside this 16 camera OB vehicle

Routing relies on a Miranda NVISION 8500 series hybrid router, while a Telex ADAM matrix manages talkback and Tektronix WFM7200 waveform monitors support engineering. Canon XJ95 box lenses and barrel lenses equip the camera chains. Moreover, the five-element composite body combines a steel frame, polyurethane insulation, ply and a GRP skin, and Daikin air-conditioning units cool both the crew and the systems.
