The SuperSport OB2 is a 14-camera HD double expander OB truck that C2S supplied, designed, coach-built and integrated for SuperSport in Nigeria. Commissioned in 2016, it features a flexible open-plan layout for small and large production teams. In addition, it can operate with only one side expanded when space is restricted, and the project included a support vehicle with an on-board edit suite.

THE BRIEF

SuperSport commissioned C2S to supply, design, coach-build and integrate this 14-camera HD project. Cutting-edge technology was employed to deliver a truly versatile, modern OB, offering top-class facilities for scalable events coverage. The project also included a support vehicle with on-board edit suite.

The OB truck boasts a flexible open-plan layout, offering optimal functionality for small and large production teams alike. Easy access to the racks allows the truck to be rigged per job. The vehicle is designed to be able to operate with only one side expanded if space is restricted.

Inside the SuperSport OB2

At its core, a Sony MVS-7000X vision mixer with 32 inputs and 3 M/Es handles 13 Sony HSC-300 HD camera channels, a Sony HDC-3300R super slow-motion channel and 2 Q-Ball cameras. Built on a Mercedes Axor 2529 chassis, the double-expanding body uses an aluminium-skinned composite frame for acoustic and thermal protection. Moreover, hydraulic jacks with digital level control and automatic cable reels make rigging quick on every job.
