3eOeil Productions selected C2S Media Ltd to design and build the C à vous studio, with C2S France providing production services for its five weekly broadcasts. This close collaboration gives our engineers a direct understanding of the production team’s requirements, enabling them to design technology and workflows around the programme. The result is faster project delivery and more efficient operations, including technical solutions that reduce the number of operators needed.

This integrated approach enabled C2S to deliver complex projects within six-week schedules while maintaining the quality and reliability required for live television. It has also encouraged 3eOeil Productions to continue working with C2S year after year, ultimately developing into a revenue-sharing partnership for the delivery of C à vous.

Financing and ongoing investment are another key advantage. As part of the Visual Impact Group, C2S can combine the design and construction of studio facilities and OB vans with in-house financing, supporting long-term customer partnerships. The original C à vous studio was built and financed against a three-year contract with 3eOeil Productions. That relationship has now continued for more than ten years, with C2S regularly upgrading the facilities as production requirements evolve. C2S also manages the resale of replaced equipment, helping offset the cost of each upgrade.

2019 · Studio relocation

C2S relocated the complete C à vous production system across Paris to a new studio within a strict six-week window. Eight equipment racks and the entire production control room were dismantled in just four days, then reinstalled over the following four to five weeks with new cabling, significant equipment upgrades and additional facilities. Technical rehearsals allowed the team to resolve issues before transmission, ensuring the new season launched on schedule.

2021 · A second live programme

C2S replaced the ageing technical furniture with modern, ergonomic consoles and upgraded the facilities to accommodate a second live programme, C dans l’air. Airing an hour before C à vous, it required a production handover of just five minutes. Despite a six-week installation window and the additional challenges of partial COVID lockdown restrictions, C2S completed the upgrade and reconfiguration on time, enabling both programmes to broadcast successfully.

2025 · Full-frame cameras & robotics

3eOeil Productions again entrusted C2S with upgrading the Paris studio used to produce C à vous for France Télévisions. C2S advised on, demonstrated and supplied full-frame cameras and robotic systems, alongside a production control-room upgrade completed during the summer break.

A dedicated team worked closely with the client to understand the production requirements and develop a practical solution within this demanding timeframe.

The scope included upgrading the central apparatus room (CAR/Nodal) and the production control facilities, covering video, audio, vision and lighting control. C2S also added four LSM replay positions, installed additional studio cameras, connected ten post-production rooms and the commentary facilities to the CAR, and integrated dark-fibre connections from stadiums across France into the central technical and production infrastructure.

C2S completed the first-phase upgrade within the three-week window, meeting the fixed launch date while delivering the quality and reliability required for live football coverage. The project strengthened the relationship with Mediawan Sports, leading to continued facility upgrades and production support for subsequent football seasons.

C2S designed a mobile extension to the existing central apparatus room (CAR/Nodal), combining an additional fixed equipment rack in the CAR with a portable stage rack. The stage rack is brought into the reception hall for each production and stored away for the rest of the week.

The racks were pre-wired to accommodate seven camera control units, Ereca Stage Racer 2 connectivity and one RF camera. An integrated changeover system allows the engineer-in-charge (EIC) to switch between 20h10 and other productions in just a few minutes.

A flexible studio built around the production

The mobile system enables the reception hall to become a working television set each week, then return to its normal use without a permanent studio installation. The stage rack provides audio, video and network connectivity, supported by Sennheiser wireless microphones, Phonak and Sennheiser in-ear monitoring systems, Bolero intercom and Dante stage converters. Two Samsung 100-inch professional displays complete the set.

This gave Black-D the technical facilities and production support needed to offer the programme to its customer, backed by a single partner for design, delivery, financing and ongoing production.
